Kids love to cook things that they love to eat…this can be the start of making them independent, self reliant human beings. Do encourage them to do most if the things on their own but do supervise at all times and please read the safety instruction for cooking with kids before you start at
For Mini Cherry Cheese Cakes,Cooking with Kids
3 digestive biscuits
I tablespoon butter
1 egg
4 tablespoons cream cheese
2 teaspoons caster sugar
A few drops vanilla essence
15 cherries, pitted
This Is What You Do :
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
Place the biscuits in a plastic bag, crush with kitchen hammer or rolling pin. Mix butter into the biscuit crumbs. Divide the crumb mix equally into two oven proof individual bowls.
Press it down with spoon and refrigerate till you prepare the cheese batter.
In a bowl mix egg, cheese, sugar and vanilla essence by hand or blend these ingredients in food processor.
Take the bowls out of fridge, place 5-6 cherries in the middle of each bowl and pour the cheese batter over them.
Bake for 20- 25 minutes or till the the mini cakes turn golden. To decorate the rims of bowls with icing sugar brush the rims lightly with water or lemon juice. Place icing sugar in a plate and dip the rims of bowls into it. Put a few fresh cherries on top.Serve warm or chilled. Enjoy!
