Frozen Banana Chocolate Treats are super easy to make and the best substitute to an ice cream with no added sugar other than what the bananas have naturally. A combination of banana and dark chocolate is a high potassium, high antioxidants, heart friendly, energy food…what more can you want from a dessert ;)It’s something the whole family can enjoy making and eating together.
1+1/2 cup dark chocolate
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mixed nuts, crushed (optional)
6 ripe bananas
6 wooden skewers
This Is What You Do:
Peel and cut bananas into halves. Pierce wooden skewers through them, place them on butter paper and freeze for 2 hours. Melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, add olive oil. Keep stirring till the chocolate is completely melted and becomes one with olive oil. To melt chocolate in microwave, check and stir every 15 seconds. Let the chocolate come to room temperature, dip the bananas into it to coat them completely. Sprinkle with nuts or coloured sprinkles. Freeze another 2 hours or till bananas are frozen hard.
