If you are a carnivore, you are sure to fall in love with this simple and quick to prepare one pot lamb keema (lamb mince fry) recipe.
When I was around 7-8 years old, I went to spend a day at my best friend’s house for the first time. I remember her mom asking me what would I like to eat, and I told her I’d like to have lamb keema and steamed rice.
My love for this recipe goes back that many year, and I still cook it with a lot of love for my family. Here I’m sharing with you one of my most favourite recipes. Enjoy!
Lamb Mince Fry Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg lamb mince
- 1 medium onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 inch piece ginger
- 3 pods black cardamoms
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 6-7 pepper corn
- 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
This Is What You Do :
- Heat oil over medium heat, add onions. Fry till onions are caramelised, take them out of oil and set aside.
- Add minced meat, ginger, garlic and all the spices. Stir for five minutes, add yogurt and keep stirring another 5 minutes.
- Add 1 cup water, cover the pan, reduce heat and let simmer another 10 minutes or till the water dries out.
- Uncover and stir till the oil separates from the mince.
- Garnish with green chilli peppers, julienne cut ginger fried onions.
Serve hot with wheat roti or nan bread.

I’m a carnivore who, as of yesterday, has a freezer full of this goodness. The first time I ate it I was like “Man, sometimes the food is so good I just feel like I could kiss it!” 😀 No, seriously.
Hahaha 😀 Happy to meet you, dear carnivore! :)) I’ve met many passionate foodies over the year but none as expressive about it as you are dear Gill! 🙂 Love it! xxx
