(Fettuccine is a flat, thick noodle made of egg and flour… Looks like ribbons… That’s why the name ‘fettuccine’ which means ‘little ribbons’ in Italian).
Pasta and Pizza are among world’s top most favourite foods. Honestly, if I’m given a choice to decide between the two, I’ll find myself in a tight spot! The solution to this problem I found in combining the two. It sounds greedy but the result is super delicious and equally delights both kids and adults!
All you need to do is replace the pizza dough base with pasta and add your favourite toppings and cheeses to it. I added eggs to my pasta pizza to make it firm enough to be cut into slices. It has a wide margin for innovation and can be cooked both in the oven or on stove top.
Ingredients:
6 ripe tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1/4 kg boneless chicken, cut into almond size pieces
1/2 tin button mushrooms, cut into almond size pieces
4 eggs
2 spring onions, chopped
1 teaspoon dry Italian herbs
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated
This Is What You Do:
Blend the tomatoes, garlic and herbs in a blender to a puree. Add salt and paprika to it.
Stir fry the chicken and mushrooms in a tablespoon of olive oil till they are caramelised.
Heat the remaining oil in an oven proof frying pan, add the cooked pasta and eggs. Scatter over the tomato purée, the fried chicken, mushrooms, spring onions and the grated cheese.
Transfer to the oven and bake for 6-8 minutes or till the eggs are set and the cheese is nice and bubbly.
If you don’t have an oven just place the frying pan on the stove on very low heat and cover with a lid for 5-6 minutes)
It is a super, super pizza! :))
I like it!
