This low calorie, no fat recipe is amazingly flavourful. I’ve combined many of my favourite things in this recipe to create layers of taste.

The fish gets marinated in lemon and coriander blend and then is steamed till flaky. The cabbage leaves, get slightly soft but still stay crisp. The yogurt sauce binds all the ingredients together and adds freshness to the whole dish.

A very quick and easy recipe with few ingredients that are usually kitchen staples.

For Steamed Fish In Cabbage Leaves :

8 boneless, skinless fish fillet
( any firm white fish)
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup fresh coriander
1 green chilli pepper
8 large cabbage leaves

For yogurt sauce :

2 cups yogurt
1 green chilli pepper
A bunch of coriander leaves
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

This Is What You Do :

Carefully separate 8 cabbage leaves from the head. Wash and pat dry on a kitchen towel.

Blend lemon juice, garlic, coriander, green chilli, salt and pepper in a food processor till a smooth paste forms.

Marinate fish pieces in this sauce for 20 minutes.

Heat a steamer or,if you don’t have one, fill water in a saucepan 1/3, heat till its steaming, place a wire mesh sieve over it.

Wrap the marinated fish pieces in cabbage leaves.You can tie the bundles with kitchen string or place the folded sides facing down.

Place the cabbage bundles on the steamer tray or the wire mesh.
Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes.

Blend all the ingredients of yogurt sauce in an electric blender, except yogurt. Stir the blended greens in yogurt and mix to make a sauce.
Serve fish over steamed rice or sautéed vegetables and pour the yogurt sauce over it.
