It’s very easy and inexpensive to make at home, and you can make it in infinite flavours of your choice with seasonal fruits, peanut butter or chocolate.
I add banana to most of my frozen yogurt concoctions, as it’s a natural sweetener which also adds creaminess without having to add heavy cream.
In the absence of ice cream machine all you need to make this banana frozen yogurt is to plan a day ahead. I’ve used fresh peaches here as their sweet tart flavour really works well with bananas and yogurt. You can experiment with mangoes, strawberries, cherries or any other of your favourite fruits.
What I do these days is make a big bowlful every morning and freeze it for 24 hours to be used next day.
Ingredients:
4 peaches
1 banana
4 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
a few drops vanilla essence
This Is What You Do:
Add all the ingredients to the food processor and blitz till smooth.
Pour in a freezable container with airtight lid. Freeze for two hours or till the yogurt begins to set on the edges and still soft in the middle.
Once again blend in the processor, pour back in the container. Repeat this process another two times or till you achieve the right creamy consistency.
Scoop out in individual bowls and serve with your desired topping: fresh fruits, chopped nuts, honey, or chocolate.
