Food can’t get healthier than this recipe for green masala salmon and stir fried coleslaw. Fish cooked in a herb marinade and cabbage instead of being drowned in mayonnaise stir fried in aromatic spices and olive oil. Salmon, cabbage and the spices are loaded with health benefits, specially for cholesterol and heart patients.

For Green Masala Salmon :

4 steaks of Salmon fish
8-9 fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup chopped coriander
4 cloves garlic
1/2 inch piece ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 green chilli pepper
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil

This Is What You Do :

Blend together mint, coriander,garlic, ginger, chilli pepper, salt and lemon juice in an electric blender. Marinate fish steaks in the green masala mix, leave for 20 minutes. Heat oil in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Place the steaks in the pan skin down. Let simmer for 3 minutes, turn and repeat. Cover the pan, reduce heat and cook for another 6 minutes.

For Stir Fried Coleslaw :

2 cups finely chopped cabbage
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (zeera)
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi)
1/4teaspoon black onion seeds (kalonji)
1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil

This Is What You Do :
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add cumin, mustard, fenugreek and onion seeds. Stir fry for a few seconds or till the amazing aroma hits your nostrils. Add cabbage, stir fry till the cabbage is slightly tender (not soft). Add lemon juice, salt and chilli flakes. Take off the heat. Make a heap of stir fried coleslaw on the plate and serve a sole fillet over it with lemon wedges.
